Website terms
These terms govern your use of the CivilCovered website, operated by CivilCovered. By using the website you accept them.
1. What this website is for
The website provides general information for contractors about insurance and construction guarantees, and lets you send an enquiry. It is not advice on your own circumstances, and it is not legal, financial or tax advice.
2. We arrange insurance, we do not provide it
CivilCovered arranges insurance. It is not an insurer and does not underwrite insurance or issue guarantees. Insurers underwrite policies and guarantee providers issue guarantees, each on their own terms.
3. Information on the website
We aim to keep the information accurate, but laws, standards, regulators’ requirements and insurers’ practices change. The information is general, and you should check the contract, policy wording or official source that applies to you before relying on it. Where we refer to official sources, those sources govern.
4. Availability of cover
Whether a particular cover or guarantee can be arranged depends on your circumstances, insurer or provider appetite and underwriting. Statements on the website about what a cover may address describe general possibilities, not promises.
5. Third-party links
The website may link to other websites and services, including official sources and independent service providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
6. Using the website
- Use the website lawfully and do not try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it.
- Provide information that is accurate and that you are entitled to share.
- Do not submit information about other people unless you are entitled to do so.
7. Intellectual property
The content, design and branding of the website belong to CivilCovered or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business use, but you may not copy, republish or adapt them without permission.
8. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, CivilCovered is not liable for loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. We may change them from time to time. The version on this page is the current version.
Questions about these terms can be sent to us through our contact page.
